Device Naming Rules

Here, you can set the device naming rules applied to the merchant. After a device is installed and activated with Ora, the device name will be automatically generated based on the naming rules associated with the merchant it is bound to. If the merchant does not have a naming rule set, the device name will be generated according to the company's default naming rules.

  • There are two states for Device Naming Rules: Enabled and Disabled.

  • Users can View, Edit, Apply to Merchant, Disabled, Enabled, or Deleted Device naming rules.

  • View: Users can view the current settings of the naming rule. Clicking the Edit button , Nubis will redirect to the editing page.

  • Edit: Users can change the settings of the naming rule. By clicking "Confirm," a new rule will take effect.

  • Apply to Merchant: Users can view the merchants currently using this naming rule. By clicking "Apply to Merchant," users can select or deselect merchants to apply or remove the naming rule. Removing the application from a store will not affect the names of devices that have already been automatically named.

  • Add a New Naming Rule.
In the naming rule details interface, users must select the device system type and define the composition of the device name, including the following elements:

  • Separator: used to separate multiple rules, such as -, ., ─.

  • Custom Text: freely enter text, such as pos, kiosk.

  • Natural Number Increment: all device names that apply this naming rule will increase in natural numbers, and the starting number can be set, the default is 1.

  • Mac Address.

  • Model: the model of a specific device.

  • Personal Device Name: the name displayed on the device, such as the PC name.

  • Device Serial Number.

  • Company Name.

  • Merchant Name.
